Man in his seventies identified as victim in Aylesbury murder investigation

Police have confirmed the identity of a 76-year-old man who died after they were found with serious injuries in Silverdale Close last week

Detectives leading a murder investigation in Aylesbury have identified the victim as 76-year-old John Jones.

Thames Valley Police were called to the scene at 4.20pm on Friday (3 January) by South Central Ambulance Service. Despite efforts to assist, Mr Jones sadly died at the scene.

Formal identification of Mr Jones took place today (6 January).

His next of kin are being supported by specially trained family liaison officers.

The family has requested privacy and declined to comment during this difficult time.

An 80-year-old man, Peter Kindell, of Silverdale Close, has been charged with murder.

He faces additional charges of possessing an offensive weapon in public and possessing a bladed article in public.

Kindell appeared at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court this morning and was remanded into custody.

He is due to appear at Reading Crown Court on Wednesday (8 January).

Police continue their investigation.
