A 26-year-old man has been convicted of murder following a fatal stabbing outside a nightclub in Bushey.

Dequarn Williams, from Sancroft Close in north-west London, was found guilty at St Albans Crown Court on Wednesday, 17 June, for the killing of 32-year-old Jeyanthan Ramachanthran.

During the trial, jurors heard that police and ambulance crews were called to an incident outside the Vu Lounge shortly after 11.30pm on 29 November 2025. Reports indicated that a man had been stabbed.

Emergency responders arrived to find Mr Ramachanthran suffering from severe injuries. He was transported to hospital but later died.

Following the incident, detectives from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit launched a murder investigation.

Williams was arrested on 30 November.

Police said he had left the scene before emergency services arrived.

A woman in her 30s was also taken into custody on suspicion of assisting an offender. However, after further enquiries, no additional action was taken against her.

Sentencing for Williams is expected to take place at a later date.

Detective Inspector Lee Martin, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, said: “Our thoughts remain firmly with Jeyanthan’s family and friends, who have shown immense dignity throughout what has been an incredibly difficult time.

“I’d also like to thank the members of the public who assisted with our enquiries at the time. We now look towards sentencing which is taking place next Monday 22 June.”
