A man has died after a collision in Stoke Hammond on Sunday morning.

The single‑vehicle collision occurred on the A4146 southbound carriageway between Newton Leys and the Stoke Road roundabout, involving a black Mercedes E320.

A man aged in his forties, died at the scene.

The man’s next of kin have been notified and are being offered support by specially trained officers.

PC James Holmes, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, said: “Firstly, our thoughts are with the family and friends of the driver at this extremely difficult time.

“We are appealing for anyone with information or witnesses who may have been at the scene and have not yet spoken to the police, to please get in touch.

“I also ask any drivers who were in the area at the time and have dashcam footage to review it, as it may contain important information about the collision or the moments leading up to it.

“The A4146 will be closed for some time today while we carry out investigation work. We ask motorists to use alternative routes and thank them for their patience.”
