CCTV footage released as Luton assault investigation goes on
A man in his 60s suffered severe injuries including substance burns
Bedfordshire Police have released a new CCTV image in a bid to gather more information about a serious assault in Luton that happened three months ago.
The attack on the 26th of January left a man in his 60s with severe injuries, including substance burns, before his car crashed on Beadlow Road.
Police were called around 8.50pm for reports of this single-car accident.
The injured man is still in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
A man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and released on bail, as investigations are ongoing.
The CCTV shows the victim’s grey Vauxhall Astra on North Street at around 1.25pm—the last known sighting on the day of the attack.
Detective Inspector Steph Garfitt says there are still unanswered questions and needs public help to put the puzzle together.
"We are asking the public to help us continue building a full and accurate picture," Garfitt said. "Even the smallest piece of information could make a difference."
Police are keen to hear from anyone who noticed anything strange in Beadlow Road from 2.50pm, or anyone who saw the victim’s car earlier in the day.
