Firefighters have responded to a series of deliberate fires in a Bedfordshire field within the same night.

Shefford Community Fire Station say the incidents in Henlow began when three hay bales were set on fire, leading firefighters to arrive at the scene at 01:41 on Wednesday morning (12 August) to tackle the blaze.

A second fire saw 10 more hay bales intentionally ignited in the field.

Crews later extinguished a third fire by 05:21, which involved three additional bales.

According to a social media post from the fire service, smoke from the fires spread in the local area.
