A man has been charged after a car was driven into a group of people outside a pub in Hatfield.

A woman in her 20s was taken to hospital following the incident on Bishops Rise.

She was treated for injuries which were not life-threatening.

What happened

Police said they were called at 9.30pm on Saturday 27th June to reports that a grey Ford Ranger had driven into a group of people following a fight.

The charges

35-year-old Glen Lawrence, of Mill Road in Royston, was arrested on Friday 28th August.

He has been charged with two counts of attempted grievous bodily harm, affray, dangerous driving, driving without a licence and driving without insurance.

He has also been recalled to prison.

Lawrence has been remanded ahead of a plea and trial preparation hearing at St Albans Crown Court on Tuesday 29th September.
