Three arrested after man assaulted outside Hemel Hempstead cricket club

The victim is said to have suffered 'potentially life-changing' injuries.

Police in Hemel Hempstead are appealing for information after a man was assaulted in the town at the weekend.

The incident took place outside the Leverstock Green Cricket Club on Bedmond Road just after 2am on Saturday.

A man aged in his 40s was reported to have been assaulted and found unresponsive when a crew from the East of England Ambulance Service arrived.

He had suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital. He is currently still in hospital and is being treated for potentially life changing injuries.

And 18-year-old man and three 17-year-old males were arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. All three are currently on police bail whilst enquiries continue.

Detective Sergeant Stephen Mooney, who is investigating the incident, said: “I’d like to hear from anyone who saw what happened or has any information that may help our ongoing enquiries."

“The venue was quite busy during the early hours of Saturday and we are keen to hear from anyone who was there."
