Rail union RMT have been staging a protest this morning outside Marylebone station against plans for driver-only trains on the new East West Rail line.

The union says it is against plans for driver-only operation on the new route. They want a second 'safety-critical' staff member to be mandatory on all services.

The RMT believe this staff member plays a vital role including providing reassurance, deterring anti-social behaviour, coordinating responses to incidents, managing emergency evacuations and dealing with fires.
