A fourth person has been charged in connection with an attempted murder investigation in Watford.

A 17 year old male from Smethwick, near Birmingham, was charged with attempted murder following the incident on the evening of Sunday 12 October, where a 34-year-old man was allegedly attacked in Harwoods Recreation Ground off Vicarage Road.

The victim suffered several stab wounds, and he was taken to hospital where he remains.

Following enquiries by Watford’s Crime Investigation Department – which remain ongoing – police confirmed the incident is being treated as targeted, with those involved believed to be known to one another.

Three others have also been charged with attempted murder in connection with the attack.

Following his appearance at Hatfield Remand Court last week, the 16 year old from Oldbury was released on bail. The three other males have been remanded in custody ahead of their next scheduled court date on 13 November.

Detectives continue to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity near to Faraday Court on Franklin Avenue or Vicarage Road, next to the recreation ground, between 8pm and 8.30pm on Sunday 12 October.
