Tributes left for security guard fatally stabbed in Milton Keynes

Flowers and written tributes have been placed outside a shopping centre in Milton Keynes following the fatal stabbing of a security guard.

Emergency services were called to Centre MK shortly after 5pm on Friday (28 February), but despite efforts to save him, 52 year old Gary Stanley died at the scene.

The shopping centre has re-opened today (2 March) and a book of condolence has been placed at guest services.

One tribute reads: "Big Stan, your smile and infectious laughter will be missed."

Another hand written note said: "My thoughts and prayers are with you and your loved ones. I hope to be able to help prevent such tragic loss in the future RIP."

Rory Wilson, formerly known as Rikki Alexander Stewart, has been charged with murder and possession of a knife in a public place.

Wilson, aged 50 and from St Lawrence Road South in Towcester, is due to appear at Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court on 2nd March.

Police have stated that no other individuals are being sought in relation to the investigation.
