Two arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after cyclist hit by van

Thames Valley Police are searching for a specific witness following an assault in Farnham Common.

On the 10th of March there was collision between a white Vauxhall van and a man in his 40s who was stationary on a bicycle.

The cyclist sustained a serious head injury that needed hospital treatment but has since been discharged.

Two men from Slough, aged 22 and 43 respectively, have been arrested on suspicion of various charges, including attempted murder, assault causing actual bodily harm, dangerous driving and failing to stop after a road accident.

Both have been released on conditional bail until 4th June 2026.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Louise Sharples said: “I am appealing for witnesses following this incident to please come forward.

“There was a person riding an e-scooter on Victoria Road who stopped to help the victim after the collision, and I am specifically appealing for them to contact Thames Valley Police, as they may have vital witness information to assist our enquiries.

“If you were in the Victoria Road area at the time and have dash-cam footage, please check your recording in case it captured anything that could assist our investigation.”
