The family of a security guard stabbed to death at a shopping centre in Milton Keynes say they are completely heartbroken.

52-year-old Gary Stanley died after the attack at Centre:MK on Saturday 28th February 2026.

His loved ones have thanked everyone who tried to help.

In a statement they've said:

"We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone, the members of the public who stopped to help, the ambulance crews, and the police. Your kindness and efforts mean more to us than we can put into words.

"We are completely heartbroken. Finding the words to express our grief feels impossible right now. The pain is overwhelming, and we are just trying to navigate each day as it comes.

"What we do know is that Gary truly touched so many hearts. He will always be remembered for his infectious smile, his silly videos, and simply for being him. He brought laughter and warmth wherever he went.

We love you always.

Love,

Ross, Pippa, Caitlin and your grandkids 🤍"
