Police given extra time to question teenagers in Luton murder investigation

Detectives given more time to question two teenagers after man is stabbed to death.

Officers from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit have been granted extensions to continue questioning two teenagers who have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

A teenage girl, who was arrested in Luton yesterday afternoon (Monday), has been given a 36-hour extension.

A teenage boy, who was arrested yesterday evening, has been given a further 12-hours in custody, allowing officers to keep them for further questioning.

This latest update follows the death of a man in Humberstone Road, Luton.

Police were called to the scene shortly after 6pm on Sunday (31 August) following reports of an altercation.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital but died shortly after.

Officers are still appealing for anyone who has information to contact them via 101 quoting Op Farnix or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
