Eleven charged in major investigation into Kings Langley murder
Police say the latest charges mark a significant development in the nearly two-year investigation into the death of Mustapha Jatta

Eleven people have been charged following a lengthy and complex investigation into the murder of Mustapha Jatta in Kings Langley in September 2024.
The charges come after detectives from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire (BCH) Major Crime Unit spent almost two years investigating the circumstances surrounding Mustapha’s death and the events that followed.
Seven people have been charged with murder:
- Marc Brummitt, 22, of Garsmouth Way, Watford, who has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at St Albans Crown Court on 16 July.
- Louise Corker, 21, of The Phillipers, Watford, who has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at St Albans Crown Court on 16 July.
- Blessing Yeboah, 21, of Baxter Road, Watford, who has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at St Albans Crown Court on 16 July.
- Chandler Orpin, 29, of Bakers Mews, Aylesbury, who has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at St Albans Crown Court on 16 July.
- Dwayne Flemming, 37, of Victoria Way, London, who has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at St Albans Crown Court on 16 July.
- Carlito Dujon, 21, of no fixed address, who is due to appear at Hatfield Remand Court on 16 July.
- Sean Barnabie, 43, of no fixed address, who is also due to appear at Hatfield Remand Court on 16 July.
Three further people have been charged with participating in an organised crime group:
- Archie Rodney, 19, of Baxter Road, Watford.
- Akala De Lisser, 20, of Kingswood Road, Watford.
- Jake Chapman, 33, of Adomar Road, Dagenham.
All three have been released on conditional court bail and are due to appear at St Albans Crown Court on 11 August.
Kayleigh Sgambati, 40, of Dodd Road, Watford, has been charged with two counts of perverting the course of justice. She has also been released on conditional court bail and will appear at St Albans Crown Court on 11 August.
Mustapha Jatta was killed after police were called to Railway Terrace, Kings Langley, at around 12.33am on Tuesday 17 September 2024, following reports that he had been shot.
Around 15 minutes later, a white Volkswagen Golf believed to have been linked to the incident was found on fire in Furtherfield, Abbots Langley.
Detective Inspector Adam Bridges, from the BCH Major Crime Unit, said the charges represented an important stage in the investigation.
“These charges mark a significant milestone in an investigation that has been ongoing for almost two years,” he said.
“Since Mustapha's murder, detectives and staff have worked tirelessly to build a detailed picture of the circumstances surrounding this incident, examining all available lines of enquiry and reviewing substantial amounts of evidence.”
He added that officers remained focused on gathering evidence and providing answers for Mustapha’s family.
“Our focus throughout has been on securing the best possible evidence and seeking answers for Mustapha's family, who continue to feel the devastating impact of his loss,” he said.
“I would like to thank them for their patience and support during what has been an incredibly difficult period.”
Detective Inspector Bridges also reminded the public that court proceedings are now active and urged people not to comment on the case in a way that could affect the trial.
“Criminal proceedings are now active and I would remind people that all those charged are entitled to a fair trial,” he said.
“We would therefore ask the public not to speculate about the case or share information online that could prejudice the court process.”
Although charges have now been brought, detectives are continuing to appeal for information from anyone who may know more about the incident and has not yet spoken to police.
