The annual Inspire Eid event in Luton will not take place this year due to safety, traffic, and operational concerns.

Scheduled to coincide with Eid-ul-Fitr, the event has been cancelled following a decision by Luton Borough Council after consulting with the Safety Advisory Group.

Inspire FM, who organise the celebration, expressed disappointment but acknowledged that public safety is the priority.

Councillor Hazel Simmons, Leader of Luton Council, stated:

“Following a recommendation from Luton’s Safety Advisory Group, Luton Council has taken the difficult decision not to sanction the proposed Inspire Eid event at Stockwood Park in March.”

Simmons highlighted the event's significance for many families over the years and emphasized the commitment to exploring future event formats that ensure safety standards.

Inspire FM and Luton Borough Council say they are committed to working together to find ways for this cherished community event to return safely in the future.
