Easter fun springs to life at Whipsnade Zoo
Animals receive Easter treats
Easter celebrations are in full swing at Whipsnade Zoo, where some of the animals have been treated to their own seasonal surprises.
The Zoo’s ring-tailed lemurs woke up to bunny-shaped puzzle feeders filled with their favourite breakfast—sweetcorn—hidden around their enclosure, courtesy of the “Easter Bunny.”
Endangered rockhopper penguins also got in on the fun, enjoying an Easter egg hunt of their own with fish tucked inside colourful cardboard eggs on their pebbled beach. Over at Hullabazoo Farm, the zoo’s ferrets were treated to Easter breakfast baskets packed with decorated eggs.
“While chocolate eggs weren’t on the menu, our animals had their own Easter egg hunts,” said Hayley Jakeman, Animal Operations Manager at Whipsnade Zoo. “It’s all part of encouraging their natural behaviours and giving visitors a fun, educational experience.”
