Four people have been arrested after raids in the Welwyn Hatfield area by policing trying to break-up drug gangs.

More than £10,000 cash, half-a-kilo of suspected cocaine and several bladed weapons were recovered during the operation on Wednesday (9 December) targeting properties at Borehamwood and Welwyn Garden City.

One man's been released as investigations continue, but three have been charged:

  • Mark Waller, aged 44, of Appletree Way, Welwyn Garden City, charged with possession with intent to supply cocaine, MDMA, cannabis and possession of criminal property
  • Tyrell Campbell, aged 26, of Chaucer Road, Borehamwood, charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine, ecstasy & cannabis

Detective Inspector Mike McCoy, from Hertfordshire Constabulary’s Serious and Organised Crime Command, said, "This operation is the culmination of months of work from County Lines Investigation Unit and Case Investigations Unit, which targeted a major drug gang operating in Welwyn Garden City and surrounding areas.

"These drug lines are run by organised crime groups who use violence and commit a whole range of crimes that pose a real threat to the community. Our investigations depend on information from members of the public to help us crack down on drug-related crime. Any information you can provide, no matter how small it may seem, could help us to identify and apprehend drug dealers."
