Drug dealer jailed after ramming police car during attempted escape in Aylesbury
Cocaine dealer sentenced to three years after officers uncovered Class A drugs and cash
A drug dealer who rammed a police vehicle while attempting to flee officers has been jailed for three years following a Thames Valley Police investigation.
Eduart Bodini, 32, of Carrington Road, Dartford, Kent, was sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court on Tuesday (July 22). He admitted a series of offences on the opening day of his trial.
Bodini pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine, being concerned in the supply of cocaine, acquiring, using or possessing criminal property, and dangerous driving.
The offences stem from an incident in Aylesbury on February 19 this year.
At around 8.10pm, police officers on routine patrol spotted a black Toyota Prius travelling along Churchill Avenue. The vehicle pulled into Hartwell End, where a man briefly got into the car before leaving and returning towards nearby homes.
Believing they had witnessed a suspected drug transaction, officers continued to monitor the Prius as it drove onto Carrington Road and then Taylor Road. The vehicle stopped again, allowing another suspected drug user to enter the front passenger seat.
When officers approached the driver's door, Bodini attempted to escape by reversing into a marked police car. He was quickly detained and arrested at the scene.
A search of the vehicle and Bodini uncovered around 16 wraps of cocaine. One package was found in his pocket, while the remaining drugs were hidden inside a sock in the driver's footwell. Police also recovered cash and a mobile phone.
Following further enquiries, Bodini was charged the following day before later admitting the offences in court.
Investigating officer PC Alicia Foster, of the Buckinghamshire Proactive Team, said: “Bodini was actively involved in the supply of harmful Class A drugs within our communities and showed a complete disregard for public safety when he attempted to evade arrest by ramming a police vehicle.
“The supply of cocaine causes significant harm and fuels wider criminality, and our Proactive Team is committed to identifying and disrupting those responsible.
“This sentence reflects the seriousness of Bodini's offending and demonstrates our determination to target those involved in drug supply and bring them before the courts.”
