A suspected cyber attack has resulted in the closure of Great Marlow School for most students today (Weds 10th June).

The incident has seen malware affect parts of the school's ICT systems, leading to restricted network access.

Students in Year 11 and Year 13 will continue to attend for scheduled external examinations, but all others have been advised to stay at home.

The school is following guidance from the Department for Education and the National Cyber Security Centre, with specialist IT and cybersecurity professionals assessing the situation.

Headteacher Guy Pendlebury said in a statement on the school's website, "We understand that this situation may cause inconvenience and concern, and we sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding, and support as we take these necessary precautionary steps. The safety and wellbeing of our students, staff, and wider school community remain our highest priority at all times. School and Trust leaders, alongside technical specialists, are closely monitoring the situation."
