Court orders closure of two Radlett properties after affray
Police respond to weapons incident; two charged
Two properties in Radlett have been ordered to close following a police response to reports of an affray involving weapons.
The incident occurred in the alleyway between Orchard Close and Fairfield Close at around 1pm on Sunday, 28th June.
Three people were arrested, with two subsequently charged.
On Wednesday, the Hertsmere Neighbourhood Policing Team successfully obtained partial closure orders for the properties at St Albans Magistrates' Court.
Under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, entry to these properties is restricted for three months to only the named tenant and authorised personnel such as emergency services.
This action coincides with Anti-Social Behaviour Awareness Week, a national campaign aimed at addressing and reporting the impacts of anti-social behaviour.
Inspector Rachael Robertson, leading the Hertsmere Neighbourhood Policing Team, emphasized the importance of community safety and reassured the public about actions taken to safeguard vulnerable occupants and local residents.
Councillor Chris Gray highlighted the collaboration between Hertsmere Borough Council and Hertfordshire Constabulary in demonstrating robust responses to serious anti-social behaviour and criminal activity.
Samuel Patterson, aged 28, of Flecker Close in Stanmore, and Jordan Short, aged 28, of Bishops Rise in Hatfield, have been charged with possession of offensive weapons and are bailed until 30th July, with restrictions barring them from entering Radlett.
A third man from Radlett was arrested on suspicion of affray but released with no further action.
