Two drug dealers involved in supplying crack cocaine and heroin in the Watford area have been sentenced to a total of more than seven years behind bars.

Janaya Bidewell, 30, of Grove Crescent, Croxley, and Marcus McDouall, 32, of Walton Drive, Harrow, pleaded guilty to being involved in the supply of Class A drugs at St Albans Crown Court on 20th November 2025.

Hertfordshire Constabulary’s County Lines Investigation Unit (CLIU) carried out a search warrant in November 2024, following months of investigations into the County Lines network. During the search, police seized Class A drugs, cash, scales, and mobile phones used to manage the drug line.

Bidewell received a sentence of three years and nine months for two counts of drug supply offences, which will run concurrently. The judge noted aggravating factors, including the discovery of drug-related items in a child’s bedroom that was actively in use by her 11-year-old daughter, and her attempt to hide a mobile phone in her sock during arrest.

McDouall was sentenced to three years and eight months for his involvement in the operation.

Detective Sergeant Christopher Cowell, from the County Lines Investigation Unit, explained that the pair ran the drug line between 14th March 2024 and 25th November 2024.

“Bidewell and McDouall were running a drug line selling crack cocaine and heroin across Watford. Bidewell played a leading role in the operation and attempted to hide the active line phone during her arrest,” Cowell said.

“These sentences will have a significant effect on drug supply and related crime in Watford. We continue to rely on the public to be our eyes and ears. If you have any information about drug dealing, please report it — together we can help keep Hertfordshire safe.”
