Driver arrested after child injured during hit and run in Croxley Green

The 8 year old was on a scooter when the collision happened over the weekend

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a hit-and-run crash left an eight-year-old on a scooter injured in Croxley Green.

Hertfordshire Police say the collision happened in Bentley Way at around 7pm Saturday (21 March).

The child suffered minor injuries in the crash with a grey MG which did not stop at the scene.

Officers stopped the car nearby after it was driven off.

A man in his sixties, from 3 Rivers was has been arrested for numerous offences including on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drink, failing to stop at an RTC, dangerous driving, and possession of an offensive weapon.

He's been bailed pending further enquiries.

Investigating officer PC Kira Smith said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who saw the grey MG being driven around this time and we are particularly keen to hear from anyone who had a dash cam in operation.

“We also want to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision itself.”
