Tributes paid to woman killed in crash near Broom

The family of Marian Bicknell, known as Maz, have honoured her memory following her death in a crash near Broom.

Maz, aged 55, lost her life at the scene on the B658 on 28th June.

A heartfelt tribute from the family praised Maz as "an incredibly special person, so bright and intelligent," and noted her infectious smile and caring nature.

The family's statement conveyed the profound impact Maz had on those around her as they requested privacy during their grieving process.

Meanwhile, police officers have launched an appeal for witnesses to aid their investigation into the incident.

The collision involved Maz as a pedestrian and a black and red Aprilia motorcycle.

Emergency responders attended the scene shortly after 8.30pm.

The motorcycle rider, a man in his 20s, sustained serious injuries and is currently hospitalised.

Detective Constable Kevin Drury from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit expressed condolences to Maz's family and appealed for any information from those present during or leading up to the collision.

Witnesses or those with dashcam footage are encouraged to get in touch with police.
