Thames Valley Police officer charged with assault following Winslow incident

PC James Nellis faces allegations related to an on-duty offence

A serving Thames Valley Police officer from Aylesbury police station has been charged with assault following an inquiry by Thames Valley Police.

PC James Nellis, 31, received a postal requisition on 16th April charging him with assault by beating.

The charge relates to an incident in Lowndes Way, Winslow, at around 12:30am on 20th October last year when Nellis was on duty.

Following the incident, Nellis was placed on restricted duties on 23rd October 2025.

At this time, Nellis is on unconditional court bail and is scheduled to appear before Luton Magistrates’ Court on 11th December 2026.
