Man jailed over cocaine dealing on Aylesbury's Dunsham Lane
Marjus Lika was caught by officers from the Local Proactive Team
A man has been jailed for drug dealing in Aylesbury, following a Thames Valley Police investigation.
26-year-old Marjus Lika, of no fixed abode, was sentenced to three years and six months in prison at Aylesbury Crown Court on Wednesday 7th October.
The court also ordered him to pay a victim surcharge of £228.
£175 in cash seized during the investigation was forfeited under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971, while the drugs and mobile phone seized were made subject to a forfeiture and destruction order.
Lika had previously pleaded guilty at a pre-trial review hearing on 4th September to possession with intent to supply a Class A drug, namely cocaine.
One count each of acquiring, using or possessing criminal property; concealing, disguising, converting, transferring or removing criminal property; and knowingly entering the UK without leave will lie on file.
On 11th March this year, officers from the Local Proactive Team in Aylesbury witnessed what they believed to be a drug deal on Dunsham Lane.
When officers attempted to stop Lika, he tried to evade them, but was quickly detained and searched.
During the search, officers recovered ten wraps of cocaine, a mobile phone and £175 in cash.
Lika was arrested and charged the following day, on 12th March.
Investigating officer PC Levi Fensom, of the Buckinghamshire Proactive Team, said: "Drug dealing brings harm to our communities and fuels wider criminality. Thanks to the proactive work of officers in Aylesbury, Lika was identified, arrested and brought before the courts.
"The successful prosecution and custodial sentence should serve as a warning that we will continue to target those involved in the supply of illegal drugs and work to keep our communities safe."
