Arrests made as police investigate knifepoint robberies
A number of arrests were made
Two knifepoint robberies in Aylesbury are being investigated by police.
The first incident took place at around 10pm last Monday (8/6), where four teenage boys approached the victims, two men aged in their late teens, and robbed them at knifepoint at Vale Park. The same victims were then later assaulted by the same group of males outside Rocco Lounge.
The second incident took place at around the same time, where the victim, a man in his twenties, was robbed at knifepoint at the Aylesbury Bus Station, Great Western Street.
Two 17-year-old boys from London have been arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession of a knife in a public place. They have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
Investigating officer, Detective Constable Alan Bray said: “I understand these incidents such as these will be distressing for local residents, but these are being treated as separate incidents, and we are conducting enquiries in the area and investigating this as a top priority.
“As such, there will be an increased presence of police officers in the area, and so if you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to speak to one of them.
“If you have CCTV cameras or a video doorbell in those areas, or if you were driving in the area with a dash-cam, please check your recordings in case they have captured something that could support our investigation.
“Anybody who was within the area of Vale Park and the Bus Station and witnessed the incident, any person matching the descriptions of the individuals or any other suspicious activity during this time is urged to contact Thames Valley Police, either by making a report online or by calling 101, quoting reference 43260287234.”
