Teenage girl fights off attacker in Buckingham as police launch search for suspect

Thames Valley Police is searching for a man after a teenage girl fought off an attacker in Buckingham yesterday.

The girl was walking along a public footpath through woodland near Maids Moreton Avenue, Page Hill, between 1pm and 2pm when she saw a man talking to himself.

As she passed, the man grabbed her and attempted to remove her clothing.

She was able to fight him off and escape.

Police describe the suspect as a black man in his twenties, approximately 6ft tall with a medium build, brown hair, and a tattoo on his hand.

He wore a mask, a white vest, blue baggy jeans, and red Converse trainers.

Detective Inspector Christopher Birtles from Buckinghamshire CID emphasized community support is crucial to their investigation.

“This is a concerning incident but we are doing everything we can to support the victim, find the offender and protect the wider public,” Birtles said.

Residents are urged to talk to uniformed officers in the area, call 101, visit the police station or report online using reference number 43260142415.

Information can be reported anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111 or through their website.

A scene has been established to facilitate the investigation.
