Appeal for witnesses after man injured in A1 collision

Police are appealing for witnesses, information and dash cam footage following a collision on the A1 which left a man seriously injured.

The collision happened just before 1.30pm yesterday (18 October) on the northbound carriageway near to Junction 6 for Welwyn.

A motorbike and a Skoda Kamiq were involved.

The motorcyclist, a man aged in his 70s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. They are not believed to be life-threatening.

PC Alex Rowe, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit, said: “I’d like to hear from anyone who was travelling at the time of the collision and may have witnessed what happened or the events leading up to it.

"If you have a dash cam fitted to your vehicle, please check your footage as you may have captured something which could assist with our investigation.”
