Appeal for witnesses after fatal crash in Hatfield leaves motorcyclist dead
Police request public assistance following collision involving a motorbike and car
Police are seeking witnesses and dash cam footage after a fatal crash occurred in Hatfield.
The incident happened on South Way at the junction with Bishops Rise at 3.12 pm on 1st April.
A Yamaha motorbike and a Lexus car were involved in the collision, and the motorbike rider, a man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His family has been informed and is receiving support from specialist officers.
A 50-year-old man from Pinner was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and is currently in custody.
Detective Constable Neil Crosier from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Serious Collision Investigation Unit has appealed for anyone with information or footage to come forward.
He said: "Firstly, our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends at this very sad time.
"We are appealing for witnesses as we continue to establish the full circumstances of the collision.
