Appeal for information re-issued six months on from Kings Langley fatal shooting
Hertfordshire Police is urging anyone with information to come forward and help their investigation
Hertfordshire Police are re-issuing an appeal for information exactly six months on from a shooting in Kings Langley in which a man died.
The incident took place on September 17, 2024, on Railway Terrace.
Officers were called to the scene at 12.33am, where they found a man with serious injuries, who was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.
He was identified as 30-year-old Mustapha Jatta.
Fifteen minutes later, around 12.45am, reports of a white Volkswagen Golf on fire in Furtherfield, Abbots Langley were made.
Officers quickly established a link between the vehicle and the fatal shooting.
A police investigation led to several arrests, but five suspects were released on Police bail pending further inquiries.
In December, the independent charity CrimeStoppers offered a reward of £20,000 for information regarding the incident.
Today, the charity is extending the reward deadline by three months in the hope anyone who may be able to assist police in their inquiry will make themselves known.
The reward is for information that is passed directly to the charity and that leads to the conviction of anyone involved in the murder of Mustapha Jatta.
Detective Inspector Adam Bridges of the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, said: "We're six months on in this investigation and we've still got a large team working following inquiries.
"We're keen for anyone who has not yet come forward who has witnessed part or all of this incident. We're also keen for anyone who may have seen a white Volkswagen Golf in the area either before or after the incident, or anyone acting suspiciously around the time.
"We're keen to get justice for Mustapha and his family by identifying those responsible for his murder."
Paying tribute to him, Mustapha’s father previously said: “Mustapha is another victim of gun crime.
"He's a father, son, loved one, and a friend to many.
"Mustapha was very family oriented. He would do what was expected for friends and family and is missed."
