The incident took place at around 9.30am on Monday 4 May in the car park of B&M Bargains on London Road.

Emergency services attended the scene and the woman was taken to hospital, where she remains in a serious condition.

Sergeant Nicholas Kane from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have been either walking or driving in the car park at the time and saw the incident to please get in touch.

“If you have a dash cam fitted, please review your footage as you may have captured something that could assist us with our enquiries.”
