Preston filmmaker and animator Nick Park has been celebrating after his team scooped an honour at the National Television Awards yesterday (10/09).

They were given a Special Recognition accolade for Wallace and Gromit following their Christmas special last year.

Park has called the reaction "incredible" after he collected the gong, which went to the stop motion duo who were stars of the 2024 film, Vengeance Most Fowl, which picked up two Baftas earlier this year.

Wallace and his trusty companion will received prize themselves from their home in West Wallaby Street in a brand new specially created acceptance film.

This all comes as the Bristol-based Aardman Animations was awarded two new Guinness World Records titles, bringing their total to five.

Sharing the news, the animation studio said: "Our record-breaking journey began in 2000, when our debut feature film Chicken Run became the highest-grossing stop-motion animated film of all time - a title it still proudly holds today, with a global box office of $227,793,915 (£185,172,711), according to The-Numbers.com.

"Now, we’re delighted to add two more accolades to our collection:

  • Highest-Grossing Stop-Motion Film Studio
  • Our six theatrical stop-motion releases have collectively grossed an incredible $756,529,838 (£494 million) worldwide, earning us the title of the highest-grossing stop-motion film studio
  • Most Claymation Feature Films Produced by a Studio

"As of 16 July 2025, Aardman holds the record for the most claymation feature films made by a single studio, with eight titles:

  • Chicken Run (2000)
  • Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (2005)
  • The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists (2012)
  • Shaun the Sheep Movie (2015)
  • Early Man (2018)
  • A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon (2019)
  • Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget (2023)
  • Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl (2024)

"Cracking achievement, Gromit!"

The London ceremony, held at the O2 and hosted by comedian, Joel Dommett, saw appearances from a number of stars including The Inheritance host Elizabeth Hurley and US country star Billy Ray Cyrus, whom she has been romantically linked to.
