Neil Young says he'll now be playing this year's Glastonbury.

He's posted an update online, after he'd previously said it was 'too corporate' and pulled out of performing there this Summer.

The singer now blames an 'error in the information' he received.

The 79 year old, who headlined at Worthy Farm in 2009, has told fans the festival is 'happily' now 'back on our itinerary'.

The Canadian-born singer-songwriter posted: "Due to an error in the information received, I had decided not to play the Glastonbury festival, which I always have loved. Happily, the festival is now back on our itinerary and we look forward to playing. Hope to see you there."

Earlier in the week, the singer said he would not be performing as he believed the music event was now under corporate control of the BBC telling fans 'we will not be playing Glastonbury on this tour because it is a corporate turn-off, and not for me like it used to be'.

The BBC is the exclusive broadcast partner of Glastonbury and has worked closely with the festival since 1997. This year's full line up of acts is yet to be announced but Sir Rod Stewart has been confirmed for the coveted teatime legends slot on the Sunday.

Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis said Neil Young was an artist "very close to our hearts at Glastonbury" as she confirmed he will be headlining at the festival.

A message on the official Glastonbury Instagram page from her said: "What a start to the year! Neil Young is an artist who's very close to our hearts at Glastonbury.

"He does things his own way and that's why we love him. We can't wait to welcome him back here to headline the Pyramid in June".
