Police are investigating after a serious crash near Frome.

A lorry and three other vehicles were involved on the A361 yesterday morning - between Leighton and Nunney Catch.

Three people were taken to hospital... one of them - a man in his late 20s - suffered life-changing injuries.

Another person was treated at the scene.

In an updated statement, officers said: “We are appealing for witnesses and those with dashcam footage following a serious collision on the A361, near Frome, which was reported to us at 7.35am on Wednesday 3 September.

“We attended the scene of the collision, which involved a lorry and three other vehicles, between Leighton and Nunney Catch, near Frome, and the road was closed while investigations were carried out.

“One person, a man in his late 20s, has been airlifted to hospital with injuries which are considered to be life-changing. The next of kin have been contacted.

“Two other people have been taken to hospital with injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing, while another was treated at the scene. The road reopened at around 6.20pm.
