Roads re-open in Kilwinning after blaze at battery recycling plant
People living nearby were evacuated from their homes.
Roads have re-opened around Kilwinning following a second blaze at a battery recycling plant yesterday.
Emergency crews were called to the facility in West Byrehill Industrial Estate around lunchtime.
There were no reports of any injuries and an emergency service presence remains at the scene.
A joint Police Scotland and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service investigation to establish the cause of the fire is underway.
People living around the industrial estate are being thanked for their co-operation but are still being asked to keep their windows and doors shut and vents closed.
