Police search for three men after North Ayrshire robbery

Police in North Ayrshire are searching for three men after a robbery and assault in Skelmorlie in the early hours of Thursday morning.

The incident happened around 1.05am on February 27, when a 50 year old man was assaulted after three men forced entry into a home on Skelmorlie Castle Road.

A sum of cash and a number of personal belongings were stolen.

Police have described the first suspect as 5ft 10, of slim build, with a local accent, and wearing a mask.

The second suspect was described as 5ft 6 and of heavy build, with a local accent, wearing an orange hoodie with red stripes, light grey jogging bottoms with a red stripe down the side, and a mask.

The third suspect was described as also being 5ft 10, with a black jacket, black bottoms, and a mask covering his face.

"Badly shaken"

Detective Sergeant Daniel Small said: “The victim in this incident has been left badly shaken by what happened and we are carrying out extensive enquiries to trace those responsible.

“I would appeal to anyone who may have been in the area at the time who may have CCTV or dash-cam footage which could assist our investigation, to please come forward.

“In addition, anyone who may have been nearby and witnessed anything suspicious or a disturbance, please contact officers.”
