Firefighters have worked through the night to tackle a blaze at a disused building on the grounds of a hospital in Aberdeen.
Nine fire appliances and other resources were called to the scene in the Woodend Hospital grounds on Monday night.
The alarm was raised at around 9.48pm and fire crews remained at the scene on Tuesday.
Pictures on social media showed the roof of the disused office building, which is called Westholme, had collapsed and smoke was billowing from the premises.
A spokesperson for NHS Grampian said: “Firefighters were called to a disused office building on the Woodend Hospital site, in Aberdeen, at around 9.50pm this evening.
"No patients or staff currently occupy this building.
“The building, Westholme, lies around 60 metres from the closest hospital building.
“Our colleagues in the Scottish Fire & Rescue Service are currently tackling the blaze and have advised nearby residents to keep windows and doors closed and for people to avoid the area at this time.”
A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said fire crews had been at the scene for more than 10 hours.
