Two people dead after bodies pulled from sea at Fistral Beach

A man and woman have died after their bodies were recovered at Fistral Beach.

South Western Ambulance Service and Devon and Cornwall police were called to the scene at around 9.45pm on Sunday.

A cordon had been put in place, which has since been removed.

A female aged in her 30s and a man in his 60s died at the scene.

The beach hosts several surfing events throughout the year including Boardmasters,

A police spokesperson said:

"Their families have been informed, and our thoughts are with them at this extremely difficult time. A file will be prepared for HM Coroner."
