Man dies in two car crash in Dumfries & Galloway
Two others are seriously hurt after smash near Lochmaben

A 50-year-old man has died following a crash on the A709 near Lochmaben.
It happened around 7:35pm on Saturday the 6th of June on the Dumfries to Lockerbie road. The vehicles involved were a black Vauxhall Vectra and a white Citroen Dispatch.
Three people were rushed to hospital but the driver of the Vauxhall died a short time later. The occupants of the Citroen, a 67-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman, remain in hospital in a serious condition.
The road was closed for around 8 hours for police to carry out enquiries and reopened around 3:30am on Sunday the 7th of June.
Sergeant Wayne Carnochan said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who has died at this time.
“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this crash and we are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed anything around this time to contact us.
“In addition, anyone with relevant dash-cam footage is asked to get in touch as this may be able to assist.”
