Planned strikes by East Midlands Railway workers have been suspended after progress on talks about a dispute over safety.
Members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport union (RMT) had been due to walk out next Wednesday and Thursday following previous industrial action.
The union said there had been “substantial movement” over its complaints about faults on Class 810 fleet trains.
Industrial action short of strikes could still go ahead on Sunday September 20, the union said.
RMT general secretary Eddie Dempsey said: “We all want to ensure a safe railway and RMT members at EMR will remain vigilant in the fight for safety.”
Philippa Cresswell, Customer Experience Director at East Midlands Railway, said: "We welcome the suspension of the planned strike action and the opportunity this provides to continue our discussions with the RMT to fully resolve the dispute in a constructive way."
