What is the Wordle TV show?

Based on the popular daily game, the new quiz show will see contestants playing for a cash prize, and is believed to be 30-minute episodes, with the Wordle typeface and colour scheme being replicated for TV.

Jimmy Fallon, whose production company Electric Hot Dog will co-produce the series, said he was: "Very honoured to be working with Savannah Guthrie on this show."

Going on to say: "Savannah has that rare combination of intelligence, charm, and warmth that makes everyone feel instantly welcome.

"And she obviously knows how to host a show. I am super proud and happy and I think we developed a solid gamer for prime-time."

Production of the new TV show was delayed earlier this year after Savannah's mum went missing and the TV host decided to take some time out from her work. Savannah, who hosts the popular Today TV show in America, was joined by Jimmy Fallon recently, where she told him she was so grateful that they waited and she was allowed to take the time.

She went on to explain: "Hollywood is a really tough business, and you know, and I didn't expect that, and I just want to say thank you, it means so much to me."

Jimmy went on to say that he thought they wouldn't have been able to do it without her.
