Fleetwood Mac legend Stevie Nicks made a surprise appearance onstage at The Met Gala in Manhattan, New York City on Monday night (4th May 2026).

After walking the red carpet at the haute couture fundraising event in a voluminous ballgown designed by John Galliano for Zara, 77-year-old Stevie joined pop singer Sabrina Carpenter onstage for a duet of the Fleetwood Mac classic ‘Landslide’.

Stevie then went on to sing Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Gypsy’ and her own mega-hit ‘Edge of Seventeen’ on her own, before duetting with Sabrina Carpenter again on ‘Don’t Stop’.

For extra gravitas, the performance took place in front of the Roman Egyptian religious structure the Temple of Dendur, which has resided at the Metropolitan Museum of Art since 1978.

Stevie Nicks performed a trio of North American concerts last month including a headline slot at New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.

In March, Lindsey Buckingham dropped a strong hint that he could rekindle his creative relationship with Stevie Nicks in 2026.

In a video shared to his Instagram account, Lindsey Buckingham detailed the things he’s still looking forward to this year.

After listing his new solo album and an upcoming Fleetwood Mac documentary film, Lindsey spoke cryptically about working with Stevie Nicks again.

“But I think on a more general level, just the energy of what Buckingham Nicks did to sort of create a resurgence of connection between Stevie and myself, I think on a larger scale that seems to be something that’s in the air,” Lindsey commented.

“And what that translates to specifically, I wouldn’t want to speculate yet, but I believe with all my heart it will translate to something good and something wonderful and something needed and something extremely appropriate.”
