Madonna drops new banger 'Danceteria' inspired by a New York club
It was released on the same day as her album 'Confessions II'

On the day that Madonna released her highly-anticipated album 'Confessions II', the singer has also released her song 'Danceteria', named after an iconic nightclub in New York.
The song, which features elements reminiscent of her age-old classic 'Vogue', has an immediate dance-vibe about it, and it's infectious beat is bound get you tapping along.
What was Danceteria?
The nightclub Danceteria was well-known club in New York City between 1980 and 1986, before moving to the Hamptons until 1995. The nightclub was also the setting for the disco scene in the film Desperately Seeking Susan, which Madonna starred in for her first major role, back in 1985.
In the song, Madonna sings about arriving at the nightclub and meeting Martin Burgoyne - her real-life friend who she became friends with in her early career. The pair then avoid the queue outside the club because they know Haoui Montaug, the bouncer.

The beginning of the song recounts arriving at the iconic club and walking straight into the club because she knows the bouncer.
