An 18-year-old woman has been jailed for 14 months after admitting causing the deaths of two teenagers in a crash in a Lincolnshire village.
Madeleine Lonsdale, of Squires View in Long Bennington, previously pleaded guilty to two counts of causing death by careless driving.
The charges relate to a collision on Toll Bar Road in Marston, near Grantham, on June 20 2025.
Harrison Carter, 18, and George Stephenson, 17, died following the crash. Both teenagers had been passengers in Lonsdaleās car.
Lonsdale has been sentenced to 14 months imprisonment at Lincoln Crown Court.
Family tributes
Following Harrisonās death, his family said he was āa bright, talented and beautiful person, both inside and out.ā
They added: āAs you can imagine, we are utterly heartbroken.ā
Georgeās family said his death āhas devastated us all.ā
They said he ābrought so much love and joy to so many people and was a truly kind and caring boy."
āThis collision was down to the speed and inexperience of Madeleine..."
Detective Sergeant Adam Doona, from Lincolnshire Police, said: āThis collision was down to the speed and inexperience of Madeleine Lonsdale. Tragically, as a result of her driving, friends who should have been celebrating starting the next stage of their lives are no longer with us.
āWhen someone obtains their full driving licence, they need to remember that this is purely the start of their driving career. A lack of experience and failing to drive according to the rules of the road in this case, will leave an indelible mark on all those involved for the rest of their lives.ā
