A look back at Wales' Dragons at Euro 2025
Cymru's women were part of the Euros for the first time

Following their 2-1 victory over the Republic of Ireland back in December, The Dragons made history by qualifying for their first major tournament, meaning they are taking part in UEFA Women’s Euro 2025, representing Wales.
They were placed in Group D alongside reigning champions England, former winners Netherlands, and France. The 23-player squad were ready to take in the experience and do the nation proud, but sadly their Euros journey ended after a 6:1 defeat to England on 13th July.
When did it start?
Euro 2025 kicked off on Wednesday 2nd July, running until Sunday 27th July.
Who is in Wales' group?
Following the final draw on 16th December 2024, Wales were placed in Group D alongside France, Netherlands and neighbours England.
How can I watch it?
Here in the UK, all games from UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 will be broadcast on S4C, BBC and ITV. That includes games from all four groups.
When did Wales play?
Wales played three games in the Group stages, check out the schedule below:
Saturday 5th July: Wales Women V Netherlands Women - 5pm (BBC One/S4C)

Who is in the squad?
Manager Rhian Wilkinson announced her 23-player squad on the top of the Wyddfa, Wales’ highest summit, on 19th June.
Midfielder Angharad James will captain the side, whilst Hayley Ladd and Sophie Ingle also feature, alongside Cymru’s most capped player, Jess Fishlock.

Who is the captain?
After Sophie Ingle stood down as captain, Seattle Reign player Angharad James was appointed the new Wales captain in October 2024.
The 30-year-old said at the time: "Representing your country is the greatest honour a player can have, and now to be appointed captain is an extremely proud moment for me and my family.
"Sophie Ingle is an incredible leader, and I've learned so much from her dedication and leadership as captain over the past nine years.
"Her legacy will be felt for years to come, and it's a true honour to follow in her footsteps and those captains who came before her."
Who is the manager?
Former Canada defender Rhian Wilkinson was named the new head coach of Wales in February 2024.
At the time of her appointment, she said: "The team has gone from strength to strength in the last few years and I aim to build on that with our mission to qualify for next summer's Euros and beyond.
"We have a group of players that are ready and deserve to be in major tournaments. I can't wait to meet them and work with them.
"My mother is Welsh, and I spent part of my childhood growing up in south Wales, so I'm excited to involve myself with the country's culture and explore that part of my roots even further."
Rhian is certainly experienced at major tournaments, having played in four World Cups and three Olympics for Canada.

When is the final?
The final will take place on Sunday 27th July, with a kick-off time of 5pm scheduled.
The final game will be available to watch on both BBC, S4C and ITV.

World champions Spain are currently the bookies' favourites to win the competition, closely followed by defending Euro champions England.
