Two people arrested after death of baby in Warwickshire
A one-year-old girl suffered a cardiac arrest at a house in Atherstone
Police have arrested two people after the death of a baby girl in Warwickshire.
Emergency services were called at around 11.50am today (11 September) to a property in Atherstone following reports of a one-year-old girl in cardiac arrest.
Despite efforts to save her, she sadly died.
A man and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of child neglect and they remain in custody.
Warwickshire Police said a scene remains in place and a partial road closure on Long Street.
A spokesperson added: "We would like to thank residents for their understanding.
"We know many will find this news upsetting. Officers will be in the area for the time being - please speak with them if you have any concerns."
