The victim of a fatal stabbing at a Northampton skate park has been named by police as 20-year-old Mason Miller.

The attack occurred on Wednesday, 18th February, in the Ringway skate park area of Briar Hill.

A second victim, aged 17, sustained life-threatening injuries and remains hospitalized.

Police launched a murder investigation shortly after the incident and have been conducting enquiries in the area to gather evidence.

Detective Inspector Matt Bly from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU) emphasized the ongoing nature of the investigation and the importance of public cooperation.

“Our thoughts first and foremost remain with Mason’s family at this difficult time," DI Bly said.

"The family understandably are still trying to come to terms with Wednesday’s tragic events and, as such, have asked for complete privacy at this time.”

DI Bly encouraged anyone with information to come forward, especially if they have relevant footage from CCTV, doorbell, or mobile devices.

Three teenagers, two aged 15 and one aged 14, appeared before Northampton Magistrates Court on 21st February, charged with violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon.

They were granted conditional bail and placed into the care of the local authority.

Witnesses or individuals with information about the attack are urged to contact Northamptonshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously at 0800 555111.
