Murder investigation after man found dead at Tamworth rail station

A murder investigation has begun after a 28-year-old man was found dead at Tamworth Railway Station car park.

Staffordshire Police officers were called to Victoria Road at around 2.20am following reports of a man being found unresponsive.

The man was treated by paramedics but sadly was confirmed dead at the scene.

A 28-year-old woman was arrested and remains in custody for questioning.

A scene guard is in place as police carry out a forensic examination. Due to the location, British Transport Police has now taken primacy of the investigation.

Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Inspector Marvin Bruno said: ā€œOur specialist family liaison officers are providing support to the victim’s family and our thoughts remain with them at this time.

ā€œWe are urging anyone with any information or anyone who witnessed events leading up to the man’s death to get in touch with us.ā€
