MONKEY seized by police in Doncaster when searching a car

Police in Doncaster got a surprise during a recent search of a car - when they found a monkey!

It was part of a pre-planned operation, where officers found a quantity of Class A Drugs. Two women arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply.

Officers then found a one-year old marmoset monkey , which has been taken to the RSPCA to be looked after.

A Police spokesperson said: "Officers got an unexpected surprise during a recent drugs swoop on a car, finding their very own little 'Punch' the monkey 🐒

"A proactive search of a vehicle during a pre-planned operation in Doncaster uncovered a quantity of illegal Class A drugs, with two women arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply.

"However, as well as the drugs, officers found a one-year-old marmoset monkey who was safely removed from the vehicle and has since been transported to an animal sanctuary, with the RSPCA now carrying out further enquiries."
