'Explosion' report in Chippenham identified as overheating patio slab

Police say reports of an 'explosion' at a home in Chippenham, was later identified as a patio slab overheating, and cracking due to a fire.

Emergency services were called to an address in Orchard Crescent at around 3:20pm on Thursday (5 March).

A woman in her 40s was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her next of kin have been informed and there not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.

Police have stressed that the woman's cause of death has not yet been determined.
